Customer Fees & Charges Policy

At The Tools Vault, we work hard to keep our rentals affordable, transparent, and hassle-free. To help all customers, we apply the following fees when tools are returned late, dirty, damaged, or not returned.


πŸ”§ Standard Fees

  • Cleaning Fee – $25 if a tool is returned in excessively dirty condition (concrete, paint, heavy debris, etc.).
  • Cosmetic Damage Fee – $50 for excessive blemishes, scratches, or minor functional damage.
  • Broken Tool Fee – $100 or the cost of repair (whichever is greater) if a tool is returned broken or non-functional.
  • Lost or Stolen Tool Fee – 100% of the tool’s replacement cost, charged to the card on file.

⏱️ Rental & Return Policies

  • Security Deposit – $100 authorization per rental, released after tools are returned in good condition (bank processing may take 3–7 business days).
  • Late Returns – Additional rental charges apply per time block. No partial or pro-rated refunds.
  • Unauthorized Rentals – Only tools reserved in your order may be removed. Unauthorized removal results in immediate charges and loss of rental privileges.

πŸ“ Premises Access

  • Access codes are for individual use only. Sharing access is prohibited.
  • Facility is under 24/7 surveillance for safety and theft prevention.
  • Customers entering outside staffed hours do so at their own risk.
